A Note from Jackie

Hello Reader,

Hey! This is Jackie, and I am taking over Edy's newsletter for today. I've only been waiting six years, and she finally asked me to pop in and give you a little update on my life.

As you know, Embracing Island Life is coming out today. I'm a little nervous, because I've never been so vulnerable before, but I'm ready for the feedback... the criticism and the excitement. Promise me that if you get frustrated with me, you'll think of my daughter (or yours!), because babies are the absolute cutest.

If you're new to the series, I'd like to introduce some of my favorite people.

You know, this whole story started when Bella was born. I thought motherhood would be easy. Ha! Was I wrong! And as much as I hate needing anyone, I needed someone. My husband was working overtime, trying to get his business up and running, and I needed my sister...another thing I never thought I would say out loud. He got injured at work (of course), and we had no choice but to move to the island.

It was a summer of chaos, that's for sure. Between me and my mood swings, my underlying resentment toward my husband, and constantly questioning whether or not I was doing right by my daughter, I completely lost who I was.

Yet somehow, we survived.

If you want all the juicy details, you have to buy the book! For the next week, you can grab it for $2.99 USD (I'm terrible at math, so I don't know how much it costs in your country), but after that, it nearly doubles. So if you're like me (ahem, the new me) and love a bargain, I recommend you grab it now. 😊

Since Edy loves bargains, it's also in Kindle Unlimited for the whale readers--you know who you are!

I hope you love it! It was one of the hardest summers of my life (so far), but it's like they say: if it doesn't kill you, it will only make you stronger.

Happy reading! (Isn't that what Edy always says?)

-Jackie.

P.S.-If you're looking for a new book (NOT mine, but someone else's), check out this new release by Katie Laack.

A stolen manuscript. An elusive author. A writer fighting to reclaim her story. Jordan Marlowe needs a plan. Fresh out of her MFA program, she's bombed an interview at Columbia, collected a stack of rejections from agents and publishers, and stalled out in a spiral of writer's block. But when a delayed flight pushes Jordan into an airport bookstore, everything changes. On the shelf, she finds a debut novel: The Unbearable Weight of Secrets by Beatrice Mitchell. Just a few paragraphs in, her exhaustion turns to shock. The book isn't just familiar. It's hers: a manuscript she drafted, revised, and workshopped years earlier, but never published. Who stole her novel? To reclaim her story, Jordan must be willing to risk everything: her relationship, her future career, and her already fragile belief in herself.

Okay, a crazy toddler is destroying my house. I have to run, but happy reading, everyone!
