Happy Birthday, Violet! Let's Celebrate!
|
Hello Reader, I have to shout out authors Ania Ray, Honey Winters, Sarah Branson, and Ellie Noor for the last ten months. We've worked tirelessly to create a community that feels like home. Where the characters feel like friends. And the stories bring you warmth and kindness. After countless hours of zooming, collaborating, and changing our story details so they are consistent across books, I am THRILLED that the Blue Spruce Hills Novella Series is coming to life. By the end of November, you will have all six stories. Start with the one that strikes your fancy, as they do not have to be read in order. Thank you to EVERYONE who helped with Violet's story. Whether it was reading, critiquing, reviewing, or posting and sharing on social media, I could not have done it without your help. I received a review the other day, and it pulled at my heartstrings. I know my writing isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I try to write honest stories about relatable women. I was so pleased this reader recognized the messiness of my characters. Here's a quick little excerpt of her review: The way the book is written, the style, is so real. It isn’t pretty or tidy but neither is life... So to the person who wrote this, thank you. And thank you for finishing the story even though you were unsure. Writing a book really does take a village. I can't think of any other 'job' where you splash your work all over the public spaces, inviting judgement and criticism. I've learned to trust my gut, continue learning and applying my craft, and trying again when something doesn't resonate. We will be having a virtual book party for the entire series at the end of November, so stay tuned! I hope you all can make it. Details are coming! In the meantime, I have some events and a sale that I always hold close to my heart. First up is Pituitary Tumor Awareness Month. October is not only the month I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor, but also the month that brings a focus to this illness that impacts so many. During October, you will find The Havoc in My Head on audio for just $.99 across all retailers. You will also find the ebook for just $.99 from 10/20-10/24 on Amazon, so mark your calendar! A recent review on Goodreads validated why I wrote this book. It wasn't just for me to process my journey, but to help family and loved ones understand what was happening inside. I had been told it was all in my head more times than I could count, and I got tired of not being believed. So I wrote this book for all the past, present, and future patients with a pituitary tumor. I had previously Googled pituitary tumours to try and understand more about the condition, but because everyone's experience is so different, it was difficult to narrow down exactly what my dad was going through. Hearing Ashley's personal story gave me a much clearer insight into the realities of living with the condition. Listen on audio or grab the ebook sale. Share it with a loved one. Lastly, if you're local to Central Massachusetts, come visit me this month! I'll have copies of Family is Family and all my other books. Dates to Remember: 10/3/26: Blackstone Public Library from 10-2 10/10/26: Millbury Public Library from 9-2 10/17/26: The Scarecrow Festival at Kent Pavillian in Cheapachet, RI from 11-4 If you're not local and you want to check out a virtual book fair, hop on over to The Hedgie House Book Fair from 10/3-10/4! Phew! Thank you for sticking with me. October tends to be one of the busiest months for me, and this October is no different. Enjoy the BEAUTIFUL fall, enjoy the weekend (it's going to be 84 degrees here!), and spend some time with a good book.
Love, Edy. P.S.- What are your favorite holiday cozy reads? Write back and let me know. I'm hoping to get into the holiday spirit this year by living vicariously through some amazing characters. |
