Second-Chance Love is In the Air
|
HelloReader As I sit in a home likely built in the late 1700's for a writer's retreat with some of my favorite women, I can't help but think of all the stories that live within these walls. The marriages...the sibling relationship...the hardships. These are the stories I crave. Who were they? What happened to them? Can I write their story based on my imagination? Yes, yes, I can. And maybe I will. Reading CornerThis reading corner is for you, my friends! Remember back when A Trip Down Memory Lane was made into an audiobook? Well, for this month, it is only $.99 on Chirp and on my direct store, Edy's BookShop. Yep! You heard that right. It's a quick listen (just 4 hours), and right now, it has no reviews. I would LOVE for you to be the first! If you are an audiobook listener, reply to this email and tell me where you get your audiobooks! If you aren't, reply and tell me why audio isn't for you. I have recently turned to audio, and I find it helpful when I'm doing all those boring tasks like dishes and laundry. There's nothing better than a fun story playing in your ears to pass the time. Gratitude CornerI'm not sure what it is, but I have been on a baking kick lately. Maybe it's the cold temperatures and this never-ending desire for chocolate, but as soon as the sun sets, my brain shuts off, and I turn to the kitchen for a homemade midnight snack. Delicious, right? I found a baking book on the free table at work. That thing is my go-to book for fun, simple recipes. Blueberry cake. Chocolate pie. Lemon bread. Nothing from this cookbook has been a fail, and my ENTIRE family loves it all. And the best part is that it was from As Seen on TV (which was my favorite infomercials to watch when I was up in the middle of the night with a newborn). Who remembers Cathy Mitchell? Writing CornerThis writing retreat was a breath of fresh air! Friends, good food, and the clicking of keyboards all day long is a dream come true for me. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of home can rejuvenate you and reset your mind. We're all living in the doldrums of winter. A frozen tundra. An ice box. A weekend of inspiration and good conversation is a great way to forget about the weather. I am officially two-thirds done with my holiday novella and I want to share ALL the details, but it's a project that includes six-other authors. And I know you'll love it when it's done. A cozy town in the Poconos Mountains. A tight-knit community. And holiday flair. And just for fun, this little town, Jim Thorpe, is the setting for this beautiful novella project. Don't you love it? It's called LIttle Switzerland and is on my bucket list to visit. I hope you are all having a great week! Happy February, and may you stay cozy and warm. Keep reading! Edy
