Two More Weeks!

Hello Reader, How is it already May? As someone who works in the public schools, I am excited to say that summer is near. Summer is my time to dive into my imagination and get as many words on paper as possible. It's the time of year when I eat, sleep, and dream about stories. I already have two stories brewing in my head, and I am just waiting to dive into them. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll get them both down on paper. Fingers crossed. As for my books, I am counting down the days until Embracing Island Life is in your hands. May 15, 2026. This is what you get from Embracing Island Life: The family’s ups and downs, the island magic, and Jackie’s imperfect but fierce love shine brightly. It’s absolutely a story I’d press into the hands of folks who adore heartfelt, domestic fiction with messy love and hopeful triumph. --Beta Reader If you haven't yet, be sure to read books 1 and 2 and preorder book 3. I have marked down the ebook price for An Unfinished Story and Embracing Island Life to $2.99, so grab the deal before the price goes up! If you are a paperback reader but need large print, I have also added large print editions for The Block Island Saga on Amazon and my direct store. This weekend, my daughter and I went on a quick 24-hour road trip to Saratoga, NY. Has anyone been there before? It was our first time, and it was beautiful! In my head, as I walked around, I created a story that took place in Saratoga in the early 1900s. I imagined the characters that resided in the giant, historic homes, the clothing, the horse races, and the hustle and bustle of the city. As for the location in 2026, I felt like I had entered another world. Everyone was friendly (which isn't super common where I am), downtown was alive, and I found an amazing used bookstore. The rooms never ended, and I could have spent all day in there. If you haven't been and have an opportunity to go, I recommend the trip. I was told the hotel prices triple during racing season, so make sure you go in the off-season. What are you reading these days? I've been listening to audiobooks now that the weather is nice and I can go outside. There is nothing better than going for a long walk in the sun with a story playing in your ears. The last audiobook I listened to was The Descendants by Kaui Hart Hemmings. I wasn't a fan of some of the vocabulary, but the story was complicated, relatable, and layered. I absolutely loved it. And the movie with George Clooney is just as good. Keep reading! Edy. P.S.--The sequel to A Match Made in Ireland is marinating in my brain. Would you prefer a trilogy about Rory and Jaime or would you prefer trilogy with three different couples? The couples would be characters you've already met, so you'd still have Rory and Jaime as secondary characters, but they wouldn't be the focus. Reply to this email and let me know!
